In 1998 the Alabama legislature enacted the Anti-Obscenity Enforcement Act, which (among other things) prohibits
the sale or barter of "any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital
organs." This being America, within a month, the American Civil Liberties Union brought a lawsuit in federal court to
enjoin the law's enforcement
